I had an intensive three-month period of painting during 2009. I had been experimenting with repetitive ‘blubby'(sic), faceless objects and installations in my recent practice.
In these Rock (2009) paintings I attempt to blur the border lines of these objects, and also enjoy the monochromatic green-ness that reminds me of nature as both sombre and playful, as well as the quiet authority of nature.
